Working with BD Giving and BD Collective and various other smaller VCSEs in the Borough, the council came together to collaborate and discuss Social Value, its impact through procurement and, what Social Value can be achieved outside of the procurement process. During the past 12 months this working group has host 3 events for suppliers, VCSEs, and the council to come together and discuss the wider impact all these organisations can have by working together.
The aim of these events is to build a network of organisations from the public, private and social sectors that are working together to drive social change and provide better outcomes for LBBD’s residents. The event was seeking to identify a clearer understanding of what the borough’s residents (and different social sector organisations) need, and what different organisations across all sectors can offer. We are hoping to create a community of givers, regardless of sector they work in, or whether they have a council contract or not.
As at step towards achieving this, we have launched a community page on linked-in, we hope this becomes a space where organisations (regardless of their sector or relationship with the council) can post their asks and their offers to the wider community.
