Local Students Work Showcased at the Film Enterprise Screening 2026

Last Friday, the Lumiere in Romford our annual Film Enterprise Screening, a showcase of emerging filmmaking talent and trailer work from across the borough. The event brought together students, educators, and industry partners to highlight the growing strength of Barking and Dagenham as an area of filmmaking excellence.

Two new productions premiered on the silver screen: WATCH OUT! from Manor Junior School and NEGATE TRANQUILITY by Jo Richardson Community School. Both projects demonstrated the ambition and creativity developing within local film education and community filmmaking. Alongside the premieres, audiences were shown a range of trailers and works‑in‑progress that reflect the borough’s expanding creative landscape.

The evening was made possible through the support of key partners including MBS, Hackman Capital Partners, and Inspiring Futures, whose continued collaboration strengthens opportunities for local talent. Major thanks also go to everyone who attended and contributed to the atmosphere of the night.

Barking and Dagenham continues to establish itself as a growing centre for film production, skills development, and creative innovation. The Film Enterprise Screening stands as another example of the borough’s momentum and the exceptional talent emerging throughout the community.
