Job Description:

To carry out general maintenance works across the studios within the areas of responsibility, along with assisting the Senior Facilities Manager on a day to day basis with all other relevant business functions. The Facilities Handyperson must be consistently thorough on all duties, and be polite, friendly, and helpful to studio clients at all times.

Duties Include:

·         Minor repair works building fabric, such as door handles, lights, etc

·         Small painting works to internal and external areas

·         Assist studio management team with daily tasks linked to site and production

·         Carry out emergency lighting flick tests, Monthly hot and cold-water temperature recording, weekly flushing of infrequently used outlets

·         Provide site supervision for visiting contractors and engineers

·         Keep detailed records of onsite activities, mainly via Share Point

·         Work closely with the security and cleaning company on day-to-day service and supplies

·         Assist Senior FM with all day to day activities in relation, but not limited to, maintenance, production, H&S, PPM

·         Understand the background of the client, the nature of their production, client liabilities and duty of care along with any specific requirements.

·         Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key client/production contacts, contractors, and suppliers

·         Regular monitoring of the site including stages, support offices and workshops

·         Provide site supervision for visiting contractors and engineers and ensure they are fully inducted onto site.

·         Notify contractors for reactive callouts for areas within our responsibility.

·         Keep detailed diary/records of onsite activities and update the clients on progress.

·         Co-ordinate any out of hours work required in relation to building maintenance and providers that we have engaged

·         Carry out and record permissions to work procedures and any permit to works required for scheduled projects on MBS’s behalf under our responsibility.

·         Perform other duties as requested by the Senior Facilities Manager and/or other company management

Person specification

·         Proven experience in a building facilities environment.

·         Experience working with contractors and suppliers.

·         Desired but not essential – Skills/training/qualifications in building maintenance (Joinery, painting, electrical, plastering etc).

·         Valid driver’s license and insurance.

·         Proficient in Microsoft operating systems.

·         Proficiency with FM software would be advantageous.

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·         Excellent customer/client service skills.

·         Able to prioritise workload.

·         H&S qualifications/training would be advantageous.

Additional considerations

Working hours are 40 hours per week between 07:00 to 20:00 Monday to Saturday dependant on Studio activity. Additional weekend and evening working is sometimes required. Working hours – 40 hours per week from 07:00 to 20:00 Monday to Saturday inclusive.
