BRICK Construction Training Centre Expands Training Offer with CSCS Card Programme and Level 1 Award in Energy Efficiency and Sustainability

BRICK Training Centre has announced two key training opportunities now open to residents seeking to start or progress a career in construction and the sustainability sector. The centre is currently offering Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card Training and the Level 1 Award in Energy Efficiency and Sustainability, supporting local people to gain the qualifications needed for work on modern construction sites and within the growing green economy.

Through the CSCS Card Training pathway, learners receive essential health and safety knowledge alongside preparation for the CITB Operatives test — a requirement for obtaining a valid CSCS Labourer card. This card is widely recognised across the UK construction industry and is often a mandatory requirement for site access, enabling candidates to enter work quickly and safely.

The newly launched Level 1 Award in Energy Efficiency and Sustainability provides learners with an introduction to sustainable practices, energy‑efficient technologies, and environmentally responsible working methods. The qualification aligns with industries’ demand for workers skilled in low‑carbon and energy‑aware practices, helping to prepare residents for emerging jobs in retrofit, sustainable building, and eco‑focused construction roles.

“We are proud to offer training that not only supports people into employment but also contributes to the future of the construction sector,” said Yeva Dobrovolska, BRICK Training Centre Co-Ordinator. “Our focus is on equipping residents with practical, employer‑recognised qualifications that open real doors to long‑term career opportunities.”

Both courses are delivered at BRICK’s dedicated training facility, with experienced tutors, learner-centred learning environments, and support provided throughout the learner journey. Eligible participants may also benefit from funded places or financial support depending on individual circumstances.

With construction and sustainability skills in increasing demand across the region, BRICK Training Centre’s training offer provides a timely opportunity for those looking to upskill, retrain, or begin a new career path.
