Save costs by cutting carbon
Want to save money while doing the right thing for your employees, customers and the planet?
High energy and fuel costs are putting huge pressure on businesses. At the same, consumers are increasingly seeking ethical and sustainable markets. This is leading many businesses to become more environmentally sustainable and get themselves ‘regulation ready’ for the Government’s Net Zero commitments.
Barking and Dagenham Council announced a climate emergency in April 2019.
We pledged to move quicker than the Government targets, making our own activities carbon neutral by 2030 to become the Green Capital of the Capital. We are supporting more green spaces and biodiversity, active travel (walking and cycling routes), cleaner and greener homes and more sustainable supply chains.
But we need your help to improve air quality and reduce carbon across the borough.
WHY: What are the potential benefits to businesses?
- Save costs by reducing energy use
- Improve your resilience to the impact of climate change
- Get ready for regulation and customer demand changes
- Meet the consumer demand for more ethical products and services
- Secure a competitive advantage in public and private sector contract opportunities, meeting the growing demand for sustainable supply chains
- Attract investment
- Do the right thing for your employees, customers and the planet
