Business support and advice

Supporting local businesses across all sectors to access new opportunities, grow and improve is critical to delivering the Council’s ambition to deliver more inclusive growth and increase the quality and quantity of jobs in the borough.

We have driven the development of new modern workspace for businesses in the borough over the last decade – from new office, studio and co-working space in Barking town centre at Barking Enterprise Centre, Riverside Mills Studios, Make It Barking and the Three Sixty Workrooms, to the fully serviced business and science park Londoneast UK at Dagenham East and our pioneering, sustainable multi-story industrial scheme Industria Barking.

We are also improving access to talent, new markets, training and mentoring for local businesses – with a range of programmes and partners to help them meet their needs and respond to local and global challenges, including new legislation, expectations and trends in employment, consumer demand and the environment.
