B&D Works has a dedicated team supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and long term health conditions towards sustainable and supported employment.
In October, the service held its first ever ‘Reverse Jobs Fair’ – specifically designed for neurodiverse candidates who may struggle in a traditional interview setting. Eleven people took part, and were supported to create their own individual stalls to showcase their skills and experience to potential employers including Everyone Active, McDonalds and MPD. The event received positive feedback from candidates and employers and resulted in three job offers.
Councillors & residents are asked to get in touch if they are able to help the team to engage more employers to provide supported employment opportunities and engage in future Reverse Job Fairs.
